Whiteman AFB MO

Under a Firm Fixed-Price contract with the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Kansas City District, Arrowhead constructed storm drainage improvement at Whiteman AFB, Missouri to mitigate runway flooding and standing water hazards.

Primary work elements included clearing and grubbing of 15 acres adjacent to runways, excavation/trenching, installation of 72 and 144-inch drainage pipe, weirs, manholes; and, erosion controls/ riprap for the existing creek banks.  The site was restored with seeding native/natural vegetation.

Arrowhead received a CCASS rating of Outstanding on this project, completed the work ahead of schedule, and did not incur any lost-time accidents.  This project was successfully performed while working in a high security area next to an active runway at the base.
