Tutu Superfund Site

Arrowhead was awarded a competitively bid, Firm Fixed-Price contract for ongoing Operations and Maintenance, Monitoring/Sampling at the two, Tutu Groundwater Treatment Plants. Arrowhead had previously been awarded the design-build contract for the treatment system(s) and also developed and finalized the existing Tutu O&M Plan.

O&M activities include sampling of influent and effluent streams and monitoring wells, assessment of system performance and downgradient natural attenuation of contaminants, maintenance of chemical additives, monitoring of operational parameters, maintenance of process equipment, and preparation of monthly reports. All site activities are in accordance with USEPA Region 2 guidance and oversight.

The site is located in the remote mountainous areas of east-central St. Thomas, east of the City of Charlotte Amalie. Challenges at this logistically-remote site include coordinating local resources and troubleshooting and maintaining equipment and control systems in this tropical, coastal-marine environment.
