Mead Naval Ordnance Plant Remedial Action

Under a Firm Fixed-Price, competitively bid contract, Arrowhead was selected to design/build/startup a system to treat TCE contaminated groundwater from an existing extraction well with expansion capability to handle groundwater from other extraction points.

The design and construction components included a water treatment plant building and process equipment, and site restoration.  The water treatment process system is enclosed in a 40 feet by 46 feet single story pre-engineered metal building with three overhead doors and single entry doors, and a 12 by 15 foot control room.  The water treatment process equipment included a NEEP air stripper, 40 hp blower, 7.5 hp discharge pump (600 gpm capacity), and a 5,000 lb vapor phase carbon vessel.  The control system included variable frequency drives, radio modem to exchange data with the control panel at the Main Plant, motor starters, programmable logic controller, and array of instrumentation, switches, gauges, and valves.
