Health and Safety

Because Arrowhead’s core business is inherently challenging to our customers, clients and stakeholders, we place health and safety as the number one priority for operations.

The cornerstone of Arrowhead’s Health and Safety Program is based upon two fundamental principles of safety:

  • The belief that all accidents, injuries and occupational illnesses are preventable.
  • If an operation cannot be done safely, we will not do it.

These principles have allowed Arrowhead to establish a unique culture of health and safety that extends from our President through all levels of our staff.

Training is an essential part of preparing employees to work safely and efficiently, and is conducted on an ongoing basis to meet regulatory requirements. Arrowhead’s approach to training goes well beyond meeting the training requirements of 29 CFR 1910.120(e).  Our in-house training department provides a comprehensive offering of more than 40 courses for employees (e.g. OSHA 40-hour, OSHA 8-hour supervisor, excavation safety, hazard categorization, OSHA 8-hour annual refresher, respirator use/fit test, confined space entry, emergency response, and hazardous chemical handling).

Arrowhead’s continued emphasis on safety translates to experience modification rates (EMR) that are significantly below the industry standard.

Quality Control

Because Arrowhead complies with stringent quality control standards required by federal construction projects, our corporate commitment to quality is infused in all aspects of our operations.  As part of Arrowhead’s corporate Quality Control Program, Arrowhead employs the USACE three-phase quality control process to manage program/project specific quality control tasks.  Accordingly, all Arrowhead QC principals and technicians are USACE-trained under the Construction Quality Management for Contractors.

Arrowhead’s commitment to quality ensures that our customers receive a high quality product, safely, on time and within budget.
